STUDIES ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF JONKER WALK

Abstract

This study was conducted to investigate the development of Jonker Walk in 2000-2014. Jonker Walk is located in the centre of Malacca town, which still has many prehistoric. Its characteristics are still maintained in terms of conversation, culture, and way of life and in Jonker Walk has become a tourist attraction as well as contributes to the economy of Malacca. In this study, researchers studied three factors in terms of development are still strong and permanent, and their architecture is still preserved, features that have been preserved, the latest conservation structures in Jonker Walk. From this study, researchers found that the structure of the building is still maintained in the absence of new developments. There are characteristic in Jonker Walk is still there and there are new features to attract tourists. Receive funds from the State in terms of infrastructure and the conservation and care is managed by the store owner.
