1. Is KUIM a public or private institution?

KUIM is an institution which was established in December 1992 and the decision was made in Malacca State Council on 9 December 1992 and ratified on 30 December 1992.

2. Who is KUIM owner?
KUIM is owned by Melaka State Government, Chief Minister YAB Datuk Sulaiman bin Md Ali  and YB. Datuk Dr. Hasan bin Bahron, as a KUIM Chancellor and Datuk Prof. Dr. Hj. Mohd Taib bin Hj.Dora Chancellor KUIM.

3. Where is KUIM located?
KUIM located in the town of Kuala Sungai Baru where the location is approximately 40 km south of the resort of Port Dickson beach and about 40 km to the north of the city of Malacca.

4. Who is eligible for a loan/ scholarship in KUIM?
All students studying in KUIM are eligible for loans from the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) or from the Melaka State Education Trust (TAPEM). Apart from that, withdrawal from the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) can also be done.

5. Does KUIM have boarding facilities?
KUIM has eight hostel blocks and are capable to accommodate the entire students enrolled in KUIM. is encouraged to stay in the hostel.

6. What are the basic facilities provided by KUIM?
In KUIM, we provide the appropriate infrastructure as an Institution of Higher Education of Malaysia. We provide basic facilities such as student residential complex, library, student health center, student activity center, lecture halls and lecture rooms, computer labs, nursing labs, cafeteria and sports and recreational facilities. 7. What are the courses offered by KUIM?
KUIM offers courses at Diploma, Bachelor, Master and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). The list of courses offered is listed in Student Information menu.

8. Are the programs offered recognized by MQA?
All programs conducted in KUIM have received recognition from the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).

9. What is the minimum qualification for entering KUIM?
Minimum qualification to study in KUIM are 3 credits of credit in Bahasa Malaysia and 2 more depending on the course being applied except for the Diploma in Nursing which requires 5 credits, while for the Bachelor, at least CGPA 2.00 in STPM or Diploma or Matriculation.

10. What is KUIM goal in educating the students?
KUIM established to implement effective education and development of religious and knowledge networking, training and technology skills as well as research and development based on Islamic way.

11. How KUIM manages student’s matters?
Generally, all students’ affairs were managed by the Student and Alumni Affairs (HEM). Division of admission is managed by the Division of Academic Management (CPA), including the provision of Student Card, application matters, withdrawal, deferring studies and changing courses.
