Cokmar Purnama
The Cokmar Purnama of Universiti Islam Melaka is the official ceremonial mace of the University. It was conferred by the Chancellor of Kolej Universiti Islam Melaka on 13 August 2009, corresponding to 22 Sya’ban 1430 Hijrah. The mace, known as Cokmar Purnama, embodies the concept of integrating contemporary knowledge with a wide range of holistic Islamic disciplines.
The Head of the Mace : This section features the crescent and star, symbolising the Islamic faith that forms the foundation of education at UNIMEL. Anchored in divine revelation, it reflects the University’s commitment to a teaching and learning environment that integrates both worldly and spiritual knowledge, with the aim of producing competitive graduates of commendable character.
UNIMEL Logo: This part signifies UNIMEL’s role as an Islamic higher learning institution that supports national educational aspirations.
Three Interlinked Loops : These three loops symbolise academic unity, effective governance, and dynamic, holistic, and progressive academic programmes designed to achieve UNIMEL’s vision and objectives.
Circular Form : The circular element represents refinement and wasatiyyah (moderation) in the character of UNIMEL students. It also reflects the qualities of courtesy, dynamism, and perseverance in their pursuit of knowledge
The Final Section at the Base : This concluding part signifies UNIMEL’s steadfast commitment to sustaining the intellectual transformation of human capital guided by Islamic scholarly principles.
