Alhamdulilah, today I had the opportunity to attend the Townhall program with 400 students from Islamic University Melaka (UNIMEL). Also present were YB Datuk Wira Ibrahim Durum, Speaker of the House Melaka State Legislature; YB Datuk Rahmad bin Mariman, EXCO Education, Higher Education and Religious Affairs; and his Deputy, YB Datuk Rosli Abdullah-Kuala Linggi Assemblyman; Honourable Members, YB Datuk Dira Abu Zahar, and YB Datuk Zulkiflee Datuk Seri Mohd Zin; Prof. Datuk Ts. Dr. Abdul Khalil Shawkataly, Vice Chancellor of UNIMEL; and Mr. Abdul Aziz Baba, General Manager Melaka State Education Trust Fund – TAPEM.

Through this Townhall program, the state government can hear clearly the voices of the youth, their suggestions, ideas, and aspirations. This townhall session also serves as the best platform for the government to convey any initiatives or the implementation of programs, including educational policies and the empowerment of the TVET sector. Under my administration, I took seriously the participation of students and young people in various government initiatives, including wanting them to seize opportunities and explore the field of TVET, as this field contributes to the country’s economic development.

I want the youth of Melaka to be proud. Although Melaka is a small state, it is great.
