KEPERLUAN LITERASI MEDIA DALAM PENYERTAAN POLITIK BERINTEGRITI GOLONGAN MUDA

Abstract


Ledakan teknologi komunikasi menawarkan rencana penyebaran maklumat dengan efisyien, proses komunikasi lebih berkesan dan penyertaan politik lebih efektif berbanding media konvensional. Fenomena penggunaan media baharu dilapor mendedahkan pengguna media terutama golongan muda dengan impak media yang memberi kesan kepada keselamatan nasional dan keamanan negara. Hari ini, penyertaan politik tidak berintegriti dilakukan oleh pengguna media baharu berleluasa di siber seperti menimbulkan provokasi, penganjuran demonstrasi, penularan petisyen menuntut perhatian kerajaan, penyebaran maklumat palsu, fitnah, hasutan, video parodi politik, deep fake terhadap ahli politik dan tindakan penularan gambar superimpose merupakan tindakan salah laku yang tidak berintegriti yang menjerumuskan pelaku tingkah laku jenayah. Tindakan tidak berintegriti ini dilakukan bertujuan menuntut perhatian kerajaan, menjatuhkan reputasi, membawa imej negatif terhadap ahli serta parti politik dan cubaan mengganggu keamanan negara. Justeru itu, kebanyakkan pengkaji sains sosial dan sains politik secara kolektif membentuk resolusi bahawa nilai integriti adalah signifikan dibentuk daripada perspektif media literasi untuk memandu dan mendidik masyarakat tentang penggunaan media yang beretika. Penggunaan media yang berintegriti dibuktikan dengan tahap penguasaan kemahiran daripada dimensi media literasi seperti akses, penilaian, penciptaan, dan tindakan. Kemahiran akses media sahih, menilai sumber media tepat, penciptaan kandungan media bermoral, dan tindakan beretika membentuk penyertaan politik berintegriti. Sumbangan media literasi amat penting terutama kepada negara demokrasi; kebebasan bersuara dan penyertaan politik dizahirkan berlandas nilai integriti. Model Penyertaan Politik Berintegriti daripada perspektif media literasi turut menyumbang kepada kurikulum pendidikan bagi membentuk kesedaran dan kefahaman penggunaan media beretika dari peringkat awal.
